Losing weight is hard. Many of us struggle to lose and maintain weight and I certainly fall into the category of ‘many of us’. However, I’ve decided that this will be the year I finally reach my goal weight after 10 years of trying.
Just over 10 years ago, after seeing a holiday picture of myself, I decided to join Weight Watchers. I’d gone from being an extremely slim size 10/12 to finding it difficult to do up my size 18 jeans. I initially did well and lost about a stone before spending the next 9 years yo-yoing. Then, in December 2011, my boyfriend of 10 years proposed. Finally I had the motivation to get to my goal weight and look and feel fabulous for the big day.
At least that was how it was supposed to go. In reality, during the 18 months between the proposal and the wedding I lost a grand total of…3lbs!! Yes, you read that right: 3. Not exactly what I was aiming for.
So, I’ve decided that 2014 will be the year of ‘No More Messing Around’. I am using this blog to help me stay on track, to document this final leg of my weight loss journey and to encourage others on their journey too.
